Common Area Security-Job Discription

Scope Of Work of Common Area Security Service Provider:-

      Service Provider should form a pool of Security Supervisors / Security Guards. Only persons in pool should be deployed at Employer’s site.
      Service Provider should get every member of pool interviewed by Employer prior to deployment.
      No Security Supervisor / Security Guard will perform duty continuously more than 12 hours in 24 hours.
      Service provider will provide Fire Fighting training once a month to every Security Supervisor and security Guard deployed at site in presence of employers representative.
      Service Provider should prepare Site Instructions for each post in consultation with Employer.
      VP / General Manager of Service Provider will meet Employer as per schedule stated by Employer and as amended from time to time as needed, to re-view the security lapses / irregularities / short comings of the week.  



Security Supervisor

Qualification and experience of Security Supervisor should be as:

         a. If civilian - at least Graduate with English as one of elective subject in graduation or
         b. An Ex - Serviceman from Army, Air Force or Navy not below the rank of Senior JCO/ Seargent / Petty Officer.
         c. If Civilian - should have at least 5 years experience as Security Supervisor  in Industry / Hotel / High-rise building (Not of a shop / bank / residential area)
         d. If Ex-Serviceman - should have served Army/ Air Force / Navy for at least 15 years.

1          To ensure proper deployment of guards as per requirement.
2          To keep all the records related to visitors and vendors and to make sure that any unwanted entries are stopped.
3          To keep records of incoming and outgoing material and monthly reconcillation report to  facility manager for non returnable gate passes.

4          To make sure that all outgoing materials are send with a gate pass duly signed by facility manager and to keep record of these.
5          To make sure that no restricted item is entered in the premises.
6          To make sure that all the guards are trained related to fire safety and to keep records of fire drills.
7          To make sure that all the facility Security Guard mark there entries on the security gate.
8          To make sure that all the fire extinguishers are filled at any given time.
9          To check inventories of fire safety system like hose reels, nozzles etc on regular intervals.
10        To keep track of lost and found material.
11        To make sure that fire alarm system is working.
12        To report daily activities to the facility manager.
13        To keep updated emergency contact list all the time.
14        To make sure that all the security equipments like metal detectors etc are in place.
15        To report all security and facility related incidents immediately to the facility manager.
16        To ensure that all the security guards are in proper uniform and carrying basic stationeries like pen, note book and torch.
17        To take round of all the facility at least four times in a shift.
18        To monitor Security Guard activities through CCTV at least two time in a shift and to report findings to the facility manager.
19       To make sure that required pressure is maintained in the fire hydrant and sprinkler line.




Security Guards

Qualification and experience of Security Guard:
      Security Guard should be:
          a. If civilian - at least 10+2 passed with English as one of language in +2 or
          b. An Ex- Serviceman
          c. If civilian - should have at least 3 years experience of security in Industry / Hotel / High-rise building (Not of a shop / bank / residential area)
          d. If Ex-Serviceman - should have served Army / Air Force / Navy for at least 5 years.


1.            Security Guard shall closely monitor the assigned location, be it static or patrolled to prevent any problem.
2.            Security Guard shall thoroughly screen people and packages to ensure that no unauthorized items or individual enter the offices premises without appointment.
3.            During emergency, the security guard shall direct people to the area of safety, contacting emergency responders, attempting to determine the source of the problem and containing the threat.
4.            Security Guard shall monitor and manage the movement of Contractors’ Security Guard in the office premises.
5.            Security guard shall ensure that the persons entering the office have their photo ids ready to be displayed at the entrance.
6.                  Security Guard shall keep a written record of all the outside persons coming to the office for any official work.
7.            Security Guard deployed at site ensures that to keep record of lost and found materials .
8.            Security Guard deployed at site ensures to daily report to facility manager.
9.            Security Guard deployed at site ensures to update emergency contact details all time.
10.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that facility Security Guard to be checked while leaving and entering the site.
11.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that all security equipments are working properly and manage them in their place.
12.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that the reports of all incident security and facility related are informed to facility manager immediately.
13.          Patrolling Security Guard deployed at site ensures to take round of facility at least four to five times in a shift to check any incident or illegal thing.
14.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures to check activities through CCTV at least two times in a shift.
15.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that they should be in proper uniforms and carry basic things like pen, notebook etc.
16.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that outgoing materials gate pass should be signed by facility manager and to keep record of these activities.
17.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that no restricted items should enter in site premises.
18.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures to keep records of their safety and security drill.
19.          Security Guard deployed at site ensures that they are wearing their id cards.
20.          Security Guard to be always alert on his post.
21.          Security Guard to make sure that visitors and vendors are entering as per security policies.
22.          Security Guard to ensure that every incident is reported to the security supervisor.
23.          Security Guard to operate security gate in absence of security supervisor.
