Check Points for the Pre-Planned Preventive Maintenance of D.G Set

TYPE – A. ONLY MECHANICAL CONTRACT

01. Checking the engine for its smooth running, un-usual noise and colour of the smoke from the exhaust.

02. Checking and adjusting Fan Belt and Water Pump belt tensions. Changing of both if required.

03. Cleaning of Air Filters to increase their life as well as proper inflow or Air. Also changing them, if required .

04. Carrying out valve tappet setting as and when required.

05. End play checking of crankshaft,

Accessory Drive

and Turbo Charger whenever required.

06. Checking the alignment of Engine and Alternator whenever required.

07. Carrying out periodical maintenance checks B/C/D-Checks.

08. Checking of proper functioning of various instruments of dashboard instrument panel .

09. Diagnosis of various faults and then rectification, limited to minor ones. However if any parts required that will be supplied by the Company.

TYPE -B. ONLY ELECTRICAL CONTRACT:-

01. Checking and fault finding in the Electrical Systems associated with the engine.

02. General cleaning of alternator from inside with hand blower.

03. Checking carbon brushes if applicable for their proper length and spring tension (in case of

conventional alternator).

04. Cleaning battery terminals for sulphation and checking its state.

05. Maintenance of instruments relays and connectors fitted in Genset Control Panel.

06. Checking of wiring system for its loose and dry connections.

07. Changing of rectifiers whenever required (in case of conventional alternator)

08. Checking rotating diode assembly in brushless alternator.

09. Checking of mounting bolts.

10. Diagnosis of various faults and their rectification at the site.

11. Testing of Alternators, once in six months only for LT.

12. Fault rectification of A.M.F panel .

13. Greasing of Alternator bearings as per manufacturer recommendation.

14. In case of parallel operation Alternator droop setting for proper load sharing.
